An App is developed for Petroleum products Density conversion to 15 C from observed temperature as per ASTM 53B.
Large volume of petroleum products after refining moves from production to users globally. Oil Industry uses ASTM tables published by API/IP/ASTM to account Oil quantity on board of the tankers for calculating quantity. For insuring quality of these sensitive products density is the only convenient and easy factor to measure in the field outside the laboratories. The density is measured at the ambient temperature and then converted to standard temperature say 15 or 20 deg C. Following publication is in metric system where mass is in Kg, volume is in Kg/Cu.M and temperature is in Centigrade and followed most of Europe, Asia, Africa & Commonwealth countries with standard temperature as 15 deg C.
It may be noted that this App and the above tables ASTM 53 B and 54 B are for petroleum products and not for Crude Oil for which there are different ASTM tables for Corrections. See different Apps suiting this.
