Dear Friends,

Love to be part of Petroleum Products Quality Control technical Information Community.

This is an https: secured  blog on  my subject of Interest mainly on petroleum products Quality  downside Refineries specific to issues surfacing during products transportation and storage.

This blog is dedicated to Laboratory QC personnel who remain behind the scene most of the times and other colleagues know their existence only when there is QC issue of quality deviation in their day to day work and fear of grinding halt of very smooth well lubricated product logistic Chain.

I will be grateful for comments on each post  which will further push me for enriching these posts continuously. Constructive Criticism is most welcome.

Petroleum Products API Gravity Conversion to 60 deg F and Volume Calculation App as per Petroleum tables ASTM 5B and 6B.

Petroleum Products API Gravity conversion to 60F from observed temperature as per ASTM 5B  and volume Correction VCF as per Petroleum tables ASTM 6B using an App developed. Scrolling Down The App developed converts a) API Gravity at 60 Deg F from observed API Gravity and temperature and b) calculates the bulk volume from natural to volume at 60 deg F, US barrels at 60 deg F, US Gallons at 60F for Petroleum Products. Large volume of petroleum products moves from production to user refineries globally. Oil Industry uses ASTM tables published by API/IP/ASTM  to account Oil quantity on board of the tankers for calculating quantity. It may be noted that this App is using tables ASTM 5B and 6B,  for Petroleum Products and not for Crude Oil for which there are different ASTM tables for Corrections. See different Apps suiting this. - Excel Formula-Density Conversion to 15 deg C,  table ASTM 53 B - 1980,    Excel sheet giving the Density 15 deg C figures from given observed Density and observed temperature for petroleum product as derived from ASTM tables 53 B. Density conversion to 15 deg C matches exactly with the ASTM conversion tables 1980. Lists of Android/iOs Apps developed on Petroleum Calculation - see here.      (These apps convert Density/API gravity exactly as per ASTM tables 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b, 23a,23b, 24a,24b, 53a,53b, 54a,54b to standard temperature 15 C,  20 C and 60 F.)   Example:  Observed density is 792 kg/Cu.
